Planning Board Sets Hearings On West Bacon, Taunton Street Projects
The Planning Board will hold public hearings Monday night on proposed projects at 5 West Bacon St. and 9 Taunton St., with the Conservation Commission taking up the Taunton Street site the following evening, as several town boards convene this week on development-related matters.

The Board of Assessors will meet Monday afternoon for a regular session that includes an executive session, according to the town's official calendar. The Planning Board has a busy evening scheduled for the same day, with its regular meeting followed immediately by public hearings on proposals at 5 West Bacon St. and 9 Taunton St. The Conservation Commission will then hold its own public hearing on the 9 Taunton St. project on Tuesday, alongside its regular meeting.

Plainville Public Library's Lit Happens Book Club will host a special evening with author Jenny Howe on September 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 190 South St. The library's fall lineup continues its run of weekly children's programming, including Rhyme Time on Tuesday mornings, alongside a Wednesday morning fall-themed storytime series with Miss Julia that runs through late October.
