Taxation Aid Committee distributes grant letters, reviews inaugural year

PLAINVILLE — Taxation Aid Committee completed its inaugural grant cycle, distributing funds and reviewing initial-year performance. Chair Brenda Watkinson reported the committee distributed FY26 grant letters to Treasurer/Collector Janet Jannell for mailing, with funds already applied to applicants' property tax accounts. The committee holds $3,774.65 in current funds designated as start money for FY27.
The board noted that while the grant process succeeded overall, applications fell below prior-year levels; the committee plans outreach improvements to reach more residents and will meet again on March 16.
