Select Board Appoints Two Parents to Interim School Committee Seats

PLAINVILLE — Select Board fills two school committee vacancies with interim appointments. At a joint meeting with the School Committee on May 11, the board appointed parents Catherine Stoddard, a district coach with prior strategic planning experience, and Victoria Lown, an assistant controller with special education expertise, to serve until the April 2027 annual town election. The board also appointed William O'Rourke, DPW Director, and Taylor Torres, Town Planner, as the town's representative and alternate to the JTPG SRPEDD regional planning organization.
The board prepared for the May 18 annual town meeting, which will consider 35 warrant articles including capital projects for a new well design, an intersection improvement, and a water main replacement.
