Plainville Community Preservation Committee approves $143,400 Greenway funding
Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of January 26, 2026
Plainville's Community Preservation Committee approves $143,400 for Metacomet Greenway land acquisition. The committee voted unanimously to recommend the funding for a half-mile trail section from Cross Street to Green Street, which serves as the required 20 percent cost share for a pending MassTrails grant. Planning Director Taylor Torres presented the application from the Town's Department of Planning and Development.
A developer at 27 Cross Street is obligated to construct the trail, valued at $700,000 to $1,000,000, but the Town must secure land ownership first.
