Finance Committee reviews DPW budget and capital equipment

PLAINVILLE — Finance Committee reviews DPW budget and capital equipment purchases for roads and water infrastructure. The DPW reported spending $1.2 million to $1.3 million on paving 17 roads, including neighborhoods off South Street left untouched for more than 60 years. Capital equipment purchases include a $100,000 Bobcat milling machine for in-house road repairs and a $30,000 vacuum excavation machine for lead service investigations.

The Water Enterprise Fund is seeking $130,000 for maintenance contracts on three water storage tanks.
