Finance Committee reviews deficit-reduction progress

PLAINVILLE — Finance Committee narrows Plainville deficit to $866,000 through cuts. Chair Mark Johnson led the committee through budget-reduction discussions, confirming that voluntary department cuts totaling $270,000 have narrowed the town's estimated deficit from $1.135 million. Liaisons were assigned to meet with department heads this week to explore further reductions.

Richard Comeau reported on pending liaison responses from Police and Fire departments. The committee unanimously approved its March 11 meeting minutes.
