Council on Aging · Meeting of February 10, 2026

Plainville Council on Aging plans spring programming and requests parking expansion from the Department of Public Works. Chairperson Donna DiFiore oversaw board scheduling of a sold-out Valentine's lunch on February 11, a Wills and Trusts presentation on February 17, and a St. Patrick's Day luncheon on March 17.

Director Christine Higgins reported on staff training in Canva software to replace Publisher for the center's newsletter and announced a citizens petition to name 9 School Street in honor of Joseph Fernandes. The board also noted that AARP tax-preparation appointments, which opened February 4, are nearly fully booked with expansion to residents outside Plainville.
