Conservation Commission approves sluiceway abandonment, gravel removal, and septic replacement

Plainville Conservation Commission approves three environmental and water projects. The commission unanimously approved Phase 5 of a gravel removal operation at 128 Washington Street LLC, with conditions requiring expanded stormwater retention and restoration of public trails disrupted by mining. Commissioners also unanimously approved an Order of Compliance for a septic system replacement at 32 Treasure Island Road within 200 feet of Lake Mirimichi.
The commission unanimously approved abandonment of a sluiceway at 23 West Bacon Street, a Department of Public Works project that will redirect approximately 30,000 gallons of water daily from Bacon Pond to the Ten Mile River.
