Commission approves enforcement order for Hawkins Street site

Conservation Commission · Meeting of January 27, 2026

PLAINVILLE — Conservation Commission approves enforcement proceedings for unpermitted site work. The Plainville Conservation Commission unanimously approved two significant orders on January 27. It issued a certificate of compliance for drainage and utility work at 33 Burnt Swamp Road.

More significantly, it ratified an enforcement order for 41 Hawkins Street, where substantial grading and site work has occurred without permitting within the wetland buffer zone in violation of state and local stormwater regulations. The property owner has been non-responsive, and the engineering company preparing restoration work withdrew due to non-payment. Starting 30 days after notice to the owner, fines of up to $300 per day can be levied.
