Board of Assessors approves abatement and exemption documents.

PLAINVILLE — The Board of Assessors approved more than $17 million in abatements, exemptions, and financial commitments in a January 12 open session. Chairperson Patricia Stewart, Vice-Chairperson Trish Bergevine, Secretary Shannon Mackenzie, and member John Groh unanimously signed off on motor vehicle abatements ($779.39), real estate and personal property abatements ($13,739.44), and exemptions totaling $86,141.45. The board also accepted finance director commitments combining real estate, personal property, water and sewer liens, and Community Preservation Act funds for a total of $16,981,209.76, then voted unanimously to enter executive session to discuss confidential abatement and exemption records.
