Board approves spring tax abatements, denies exemption

Plainville Board of Assessors unanimously approves spring property tax abatements, denies exemption. The board voted to approve two motor vehicle excise (MVX) abatements totaling $1,158.92 — a March correction of $226.42 and an April abatement of $932.50 — and voted to deny a $1,000 Veterans 41C property tax exemption for fiscal year 2026. Chairperson Patricia Stewart, Vice-Chairperson Trish Bergevine, and board member John Groh were present; board member Charlie Smith was absent.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 15, 2026, with no July meeting planned.
